Thanks to everyone for your good advice! I am planning to set up my greenhouse tomorrow (after the big thunderstorms come through tonight!). I decided to put it down in the yard, against one wall of the house, facing south and east. It is so windy around here - we frequently have furniture blow off the porch - that I would feel better with it staked securely (which I can't really do on the deck). I have a portable electric heater which I will be using at night, the kind that shuts off if it tips over. I think I will also put in some Christmas lights for a little added heat, and so I can see if I go out there at night, and because I haven't put them back in the attic yet - LOL! I plan to set it up and then monitor the temperatures for a few nights to see how it does, before I move my babies out there. Oh, and I will be putting my roses that I have purchased but have not planted yet in there as well. They are all piled in the half bath and you can't even get in there! I figured I would move about half my seedlings (that are ready) out at first and see how they do. I will probably ask for volunteers - some of my hollyhocks look pretty brave! I'll let every know how it turns out.

Here is a rough idea on how I want to make the glass top and sides. The outer frame of all three sides would be 1"x3" cedar and the inner pieces would be 1"x2" cedar. I should have drawn a side view, but from the side it will look like an "A" without the upside down "v" on top... the side pieces will be hinged an the bottom would be approximately 42-48" wide... I would also be making it it's own unit so I can make height adjustments to whatever base I decide on. Anybody see an issue with just the glass? If it was strictly outside, I'd use polycarbonate, but I think the glass should be fine???

Ok, I'll look for a more powerful and brighter light bulb. I'm going to be moving most of my seedlings outdoors as soon as they start growing their true leaves, but I guess I could start doing that now. Sorry, I'm new at this. I watched an episode of Good Eats about melons which lead to me hearing about Charentais and how good they are. I researched, to find out, to enjoy them, my best bet would be to grow them. So, I've been scouring the internet for hours the past 3 weeks looking up how to grow these melons the right way, and seeing if I can get them to grow indoors. See, I'm a college student, and currently, I'm staying at my father's house, which I can go outside and plant them. But, when I go back to college, I'm in a 250sqft studio to myself with no garden or anything. So, I want to be able to enjoy this fruit while I'm at school. That's why I made the greenhouse. I probably should have explained this in my first post, but I want to be able to grow these indoor while I'm at school during its off season.

Don't bother with buying those incandescent bulbs that are big like a floodlight, but are blue. They are just a waste of money. They are not blue end (short wave) spectrum bulbs. If you are buying lights try to get full spectrum lights. That way you will have both the blue and the red spectrum you will need. Here is a link that might be useful: This will help you out...
