Repeating/ reusing container soil.

Hi All,

Although I have small yard I cannot use it for growing veggiesÂbecause of DeerÂs, bunnies, dog and various other reasons. So most of my veggies are grown in containers. Few like, watermelons, cucumbers, large tomatoes etc is planted in the ground. My question is, can I use same soil that are already in container from last season for this year veggie growing? Personally, I feel I can because we do not put new soil every year if we have raised bed, right? Please correct me if I am wrong. Soil is miracle gro. I got little lazy and did not bother to cover them this winter. Now it is either frozen or very soggy, of course will dry up by May. Do you think by leaving it out without covering the containers would have caused the soil to lose its strength? Once the growing season starts, I will fertilize the plants regularly.

Any suggestions, advice? Please

Thanks

A
