lost in translation...

Hello,

We are the members of an french association which has an website devoted to the botanical tulips (www.tulipessauvages.org).

Few months ago, thanks to an American friend, we made an English version. Unfortunately, it cannot help us any

more.

Could one of you to help us regularly to make translations from French into English ?

Unfortunaly, we cannot to pay for it.

Hoping for your assistance, we thank you very much.

I would help you if I could, I only speak English. Hopefully a French speaking forum person will be able to help you.

Hey, I'm brazilian and since portuguese is really similar to spanish I can understand pretty much eveything. There are some changes I'd make.. any native spanish speaker please correct me. I'd remove the "en la" before germinaciÃ³n.. en la means AT, so it's like "sow seeds 1/4" deep, at germination.." The correct would be: "Siembre las semillas 1/4" de profundidad, germinaciÃ³n en 7 a 10 dÃas" In "las plÃ¡ntulas de trasplante un metro de separaciÃ³n, apoyar cuando sea necesario.", transplante should be a verb (transplant), but in this consctruction it's not.. "transplante las plÃ¡ntulas con um metro se separaciÃ³n" makes more sense to me. "Aproximadamente el 65-80 dÃas a la madurez." no need to use the "el".. just "Aproximadamente 65-80 dÃas a la madurez." And finally "Por favor, guarde semillas de sÃ³lo los mÃ¡s saludables y las plantas mÃ¡s fructÃferas. " to "por favor, guarde semillas sÃ³lo de lÃ¡s plantas mÃ¡s saludables e fructÃferas." So just in case you ever need to use it again, it's: Siembre las semillas 0,5cm de profundidad, germinaciÃ³n en 7 a 10 dÃas, transplante las plÃ¡ntulas con um metro de separaciÃ³n, apoyar cuando sea necesario. Colocar pajote debajo de las plantas, y dar agua cuando sea necesario. Aproximadamente 65-80 dÃas a la madurez. Por favor, guarde semillas sÃ³lo de lÃ¡s plantas mÃ¡s saludables e fructÃferas.

I did not select a fridge. Update - we measured the cabinet and he DID order the right size (18"). I don't know why he said 21" over the phone, but that doesn't matter. So now I think the problem is either (1) Drywall was not installed at the appropriate height or (2) Cabinet guy didn't measure vertical dimension properly (or didn't account for flooring, etc). This sounds dumb, but when I look at refrigerator specs, am I looking at the height of the case or the height to the top of the door hinge? For example, one fridge has a case that is 68 7/8" tall, the height to top of door hinge is 70 1/4" tall and we need a 1" clearance on the top of it. So do I need a 69 7/8" space or a 71 1/4" space?

I remember wanting to be an architect or ID when I was young, and took drafting as well! I remember drawing up floor plans and sketching out elevations. And had an AD subscription. So many similar stories here... We are always looking at new houses, both locally and well as in other locations in the US and overseas. I think my ideal US home is currently a Spanish Mission one story with a central courtyard and ideally, a casita. We rarely see them come on the market as they are coveted around here. I'm always finding my spouse having left web pages open to housing sites and videos. Overseas, I love looking at the Christie's, Sotheby's and Coldwell Banker International sites, as well as more practical ones. This French firm curates unusual properties and this Italian Christie's affiliate produces aspirational Youtuber video tours of listings. HHI actually does solicit applicants on the expat FB groups I belong, as did my property consultant. You do it after you've purchased or rented. However, I do think many people with something to promote do participate (it takes like 4 or 5 days to film).

There are sites on the web where you can type in your French text and the computer will translate into the English. The only thing you'll need is someone to proof read the English version to made sure the computer-generated version is easily understood.

Google for "French to English" to find these sites.

Thank you for your council. I know of course that there is this possibility, but we dont know anybody who could read summary translations made by an online translator.

I would be happy to proofread pages from an online French-English translator. Moi, je n'e/cris pas la Franc,ais des anne/es, mais je peux la lire sans difficulte/.

I'm an English-language editor and writing teacher, and I was fluent in French at one time (not too long ago), so I could certainly compare an English translation with the French text of your web pages.
