Garden Amaryllis blooming season...

Michael_Riley

I just received some Amaryllis bulbs from a customer. The plant is very robust with strong foliage and thick, large, bright red flowers. Is it possible that it is a tetraploid hybrid? The customer has them planted across the front of his house in full sun and when we perform monthly garden maintenance for him invariably at least one plant will be blooming every time throughout the spring and summer. Spring bloom is heaviest of course. He thinned them out and gave me a couple dozen. Is this sporadic bloom typical of garden Amaryllis? Most that I have are just spring bloomers. Any advice? Thanks, Mike
