swc vs. non-swc. which one wins?

I am starting my seeds and will be moving them into containers as soon as the weather allows. I would like to know: Other than convenience, is there any advantage to SWC than not. Are yields bigger, more tasty? Are seasons longer? I want to plant indeterminate tomatoes in large containers and let them climb up as much as 8 feet. I also want to plant determinates (grape/cherry tomatoes) in 5 gal buckets with at least 1 or two upside down. I will also be planting beans (great northern and kidney) and sweet corn in large containers to help populate my green wall.

I am experimenting this year and will want to concentrate on the best for next year's crop.

Suggestions are welcome as well as specific Heirloom seeds (I already have Riesentraube and Brown Berry Tomatoes and some bean seeds coming) that are particularly tasty and easy to grow in containers.

P.S. I do not think water shortage will be an issue here in north-central MO.
