OK, thanks! I went ahead and ordered seeds for both, and I'll probably try to tuck in profusions on the sides of the boxes so they have more space to mound. I'll stick the others in front so they can trail.

The 'Kimono' Red is a bronze leaf variety, available from Stokes Seeds. TRichard, do you grow your own plants from seed? If not, maybe you could practice with celosia, it is very easy, doesnt have to get started until April 1st, and you may have better performance from your own. The bronze leaves with red flowers looks fantastic with 'Crystal' zinnias, in all colors of orange, yellow, and white. The Crystals grow to just the right height in front of them to be the perfect edger.

I have some tall white zinnias but have no clue what the botanical name is. If you want those I'd trade for pink gomphrena. let me know at mamahack@hotmail.com

Hi all, I'm a newbie to selling field-grown flowers. I delivered some of my Benary's giant Lime to a florist last wk, and they had to return them to me because the leaves and the edges of the petals started to turn brown in just 2 days. I was so embarassed and disappointed! I think I made the deadly mistake of dipping the stems in QuickDip and maybe that has caused the burn. Anyhow, I really want to prevent this from happening again. Heidi, would you mind telling me where can I order the citric acid crystals? I've read in a different forum in which a lot of growers recommended to just cut Zinnias into plain water without any bleach or preservatives, so I'm a bit confused....what do you think Kirk and Ed? Also, do you recommend to the florist/buyers to leave the Zinnias out of the coolers? thanks a bunch! sewsmall
