I bought a beautiful hanging basket of geraniums for my front porch last summer. Moved it to a shady spot under some oak trees as I planned to be away from home for a few days and would not be able to water it during our dry central Texas heat. When I returned from my trip (to my great dismay) found that the deer had nibbled my lovely geraniums...flowers and all... down to three inch stalks. I trimmed the stalks and moved the plant out to my enclosed patio to try to nurse it back to health. To my great surprise, it's now in full bloom again. However, the leaves are no longer a luscious green and full. They are so tiny they're almost invisible. What happened? How can I encourage the leaves to return to their original healthy state and still keep the flowers blooming?

Dig them up with a garden fork if you have one. If not a shovel will do. Dig further out than the plant and not directly under it. The feeder roots will have spread out to where the ends of the tops are. It won't matter if a few of the roots get broken off. You are trimming back the tops too and so the plant won't need all it's roots. Water it but don't over water. Geraniums don't like wet feet. I like to pour water in my hole I've dig for planting and let it soak into the ground. That way the roots hit moist soil as soon as they are planted. Do this on a cloudy day so the plant does not have to cope with heat and being transplanted. If you do do it on a sunny day then shade it somehow. I like to put an upside down pot over any transplants and leave it on for a couple of days. This not only shades the plant until it can set down roots it keeps the moisture from the water you've poured in the hole around the roots. You'll see when You take it off that there is a ring of moist soil around the plant. Good luck

When planted near trees, shrubs, or anything else that will provide support, my ivy geraniums "climb" by building on top of themselves and/or the support structure. There are some in town that have gone 6 feet up or more, actually forming a sort of hedge. So, yes, I would say it is feasible.

Sorry but nobody is going to be able to reliably name a specific double pink rose cultivar using only a picture of one cut flower, without any pertinent background information. But do try the Garden Web rose identification forum - being sure to note the directions in the FAQ section of that forum about what to post for best possible results. Also which cultivar it is won't really have that much to do with how to correct the yellowing. If the lowest leaves are yellowing entirely and starting to drop off most of the time with plants in general that will be a watering issue - either too much or not enough. Again more background about the situation - and more pictures - are needed.
