Are you wanting one that is perennial, or just one that will be beautiful the first year and then be pulled out? If you are looking for one that will reliably return and bloom as opposed to just putting up foliage and having sparse blooms, then you should either stick with the Darwin Tulips, or else the shorter Species tulips. Another vote for the yellow Oxford. I have some Negrita that are in their second year. I have some Pink Impressions that are in their 5th year and still glorious! Big pink blooms as big as my fist. I hear they come in other colors, too, but I haven't tried them and don't know if they are as reliable. Again, plant them deep, be sure to fertilize and allow the foliage to dry before you yank it.

What most of us think of as the flower is not really the flower, but I understand specialized leaves. The true flower is rather small near the base of the pink leaves. This psedo flower, lasts a long time. Even after thr true flowers are gone. For me they slowly turn brownish and die back. Eventually they start looking so ratty I just cut them back. Hope this helps.
