Do not cut off the leaves. Grape Hyacinths will be the hardiest of the bulbs you dug up so you might want to split them now, but put them back in the ground now and add some bone meal to each hole. Here is a link that might be useful: Propagating Perennials

Do you know what variety it was that you grew? I found this info at the link below: The hardneck varieties do well in the cooler Canadian climates. Hardneck refers to the scape, or flower stalk, with its topset of bulbils. Hardnecks take a little more care to grow because they need to be hand planted right side up, and to have their scapes snipped off. They repay that effort with a wealth of large bulbs and a dazzling choice of robust and subtle, intriguing and delicious flavours. The only time I received a damaged bulb was several years ago from an unscrupulous Ebay vendor. I sent pictures to the seller and heard nothing. But I set my mind to doing what I could for this poor Limona bulb and today it's still alive and actually blooming currently. It's not one of my most vigirous bulbs but it's still hanging in there. It must have been really primed from the "factory" when I received it as I've never been able to get the great blooms that I finally did end up with..take a look at the saga of my Poor Limona... arrived with 2 eight inch twisted split scapes.. and rotten putting up a third scape and the final gorgeous flowers I know I posted this all several years ago but thought some of you new folks might like to see this saga. By the time I was thru pealing this bulb is was less than half the size as when it arrived. It never gave the intensity of yellow as this first blooming but is still fairly yellow with smaller flowers. Thanks for looking and I apologize to those of you who have already seen this...Donna

My thought is if they were just planted this year, you might be able to dig them up without hacking off too much of the root system. The trick will be to go wider and deeper than you think the majority of the rootball is and transplant them in their new home ASAP. Bulbs really don't like to be disturbed in the heat of the summer, so prepare yourself for the possibility of losses. I don't know what kind of sun exposure they currently have, but you might consider putting them in a temporary spot with pretty limited sun exposure and then move them to their permanent home next season.
