My aunt and uncle have a wonderful bulb flowering now (Autumn) which I thought was a different and very much bigger variety of a Belladonna Lily. No says my Aunt - it is a Vonvriesia. Uncle says Vonviga. I can't find anything by that name and the closest I can find is an open flower head of an Allium. Apparently the particular feature is that the flower stem always has 28 individual flowers and their's are bigger than a dinner plate in total diameter.

The plant has no foliage at this time just like the Belladonna and comes in a darker pink with smaller individual flowers.

I'd love the right name this week but if no luck I will be down there next weekend and will take some photos and then post here again next week

Thanks Beth
