What is the best cement mix to make concrete statues etc
Comments (14)Goodearth: Thank you..we really have fun dreaming up things to create. Eye's of Truth was our first try..My idea and Husband built it. It has since fallen and broken apart. Need to redo her. More detail this time. Not sure what knocked her over...large animal maybe. She was very heavy. Size is life size. 6' on the statues. As far as how we got them to look old..we stained them with oil stain..walnut. Then I used just acrylic paint to give it a moss effect. It stays on the oil stain believe it our not. Fades with age. All of these thing have been out there since 98-99 best I remember....See Moreold world finishes or staining of concrete statues

Comments (23)I have a very similar problem with a Briggs & Stratton 17 HP engine. I have put in a new carb overhaul kit. (The float was gunked up pretty bad, but now looks new, checked for leak or holes in it, found no indication that float is damaged.) Put carb back on engine. Engine runs, but poorly. It sounds likes it chugging, noticing black smoke out of exhaust especially at Idle. One thing I didn't notice in all the above posts. Is the adjustment needle on the carb an IDLE adjustment needle or a main needle? What is the initial setting? The engine does have spark. Although one spark plug shows more of an orange spark rather than blue. Both plugs were damp from unburned fuel when I removed them. (They are old plugs.) Engine running: It'll sit and run. I can drive the tractor. However when I slowly engage the mower blades (blades are new, bearings are good, belt is new) the engine dies, unless I quickly disengage the blades and apply full choke. Heading out to store to get new spark plugs this morning. I've already poured quite a bit of money in this beast. I may be the one who has a rolling ball of fire!...See Morecassia fistula just won't grow! help
Comments (17)Do I understand that the second picture you posted shows me that the Cassia was planted before patio construction, all the rock work was piled on top of any spreading root growth and a square opening was left in the patio above the original soil line so the tree was not disturbed? If so, as mentioned above, your tree is fighting to to develop root growth in a compressed soil. Also, you show examples of other plantings in the patio. Were those holes just left as open squares which you filled in with soil as each was planted? You may in time experience a change in soil pH as new concrete leaches lime for many years which is harmful to plants. Cassia is a fast grower which should be reaching for the sun. Frankly, I would end the guessing game. Two thoughts: Every time you water use a liquid fertilizer at 1/4 strength. Or, purchase a new Cassia and install with good draining soil so that the top of the root ball is level with the patio surface. Perhaps you can accomplish the same purpose by digging out the original tree. Worth a try....See Moreschoolhouse_gw
