instructions for creating fountain from pot

I need both visual and written instructions for creating a fountain from a pot I purchased. This is my first attempt at this.

There are a few preliminary questions I have.

(1)How can I determine if the pot is waterproofed, if it is clearly not ceramic? It is "mosaic" on the outside (with instructions not to soak the outside or leave out in snow or freezing weather) The inside appears to be constructed of cloth "screening" material, possibly covered with a lightweight plaster finish, heavily painted.

My observations lead me to think it is not truly waterproof.

(2) If it is going to work at all, it would be most attractive if the width were as wide as the pot itself....however, I think a black liner is unattractive in this bright pot. What kind of interior container can I use that goes with the bright blue/green of the original pot? Look around for plastic waste baskets?

Could shower curtain material work?

How is any kind of liner attached to the pot?

(#) all the electronics baffle me. I thought I understood but I don't.

I know I recently saw a magazine article about exactly this. Does anyone remember where?

Thanks for any help.
