The business of bud drop on moving themm, seems to be abt moving them while they're setting the buds, 'til they get at least an inch long (or perhaps almost their full length, just not open). It's when the buds are developing that they seem to be most vulnerable to dropping. As mine hangs in the window, I don't touch it, or move or turn it (laziness on my part), it's fine. MIM, Pls. try to relax, likely it'll be fine, just don't turn or move it all from here on out, 'til finished blooming. Watering it was not a problem (blooming is a lot of work, I continue to water mine). I wouldn't have used those spikes either, but it prob. not a problem, tho' if you can remove the mushy spike w/ a spoonful of mix, I'd do so. Whoever said they fertilize right after bloom & give it a bit of water, I'd disagree w/ that, 'cause the plant takes a rest for at least a month after blooming. Mine usually looks awful at that time, I consider it tired & resting & leave it be for a month or so, then water some. Once I see the first new segments, I resume full strength watering. I disbelieve this business of watering would make the blooms too heavy & cause them to drop. Nonsense, these plants hail from tropical Rio de Janeiro, sometimes in the January rains (when this blooms & the rains can cause floods there), it rains buckets, the blooms would never have survived. (I grew up there, so I can personally attest to those heavy rains). I think your plant will be fine, I know it's exciting to see 1st buds. Just pls. be patient, leave it alone & watch the buds grow. Congrats on yr. buds & I hope they do well for you!

We won't go into the why of this lifestyle change as it's none of my business so let's make sure the 1985 is not going to be a major money pit. Have you checked out the flooring to make sure it's solid and hopefully not pressed board. Look underneath the bathroom toilets and the kitchen sink for water damage. If the floors are not good sub flooring there will be major problems there. I'd hate to see you get up in the wee hours to go to the bathroom and fall through the floor. Do your homework regarding the different types of surfaces in your MH and what it takes to get a coat of paint to stick. Most of the surfaces in these older MH's are some form of plastic. Not properly done paint just peels off. What you want to do can be done but just do your homework so that you don't have to spend money later removing it and doing it over which would be much more costly. How about the roof. Check the ceilings in all rooms including closets for water stains and also go up and check the roof for problems. Why buy someone elses problems? Good luck.

When you repotted, did you see the roots on the small plant? The wilting sounds like it doesn't have a large enough root system to support the number of leaves on the plant. If bagging helps, you'll have to leave it in there until it develops a bigger root system. If you can get that plant back out of the pot without too much fuss, you could put it in a glass of water to revive and form more roots. It also might be easier to bag this small plant in it's own pot rather than the whole bigger pot with both plants. Dave could be right regarding the very crunchy mix with orchid bark, it might not be retaining enough water to support the weak plant. I think strong plants would adapt to the mix you've used, if it was mine I'd just separate the little one and deal with it separately. Let us know what you decide to do, and if bagging the pot helps to plump the little plant back up. Dave, that's a great close-up of your bark, it looks much like the pine bark mulch I'm getting from Walmart. But 'The Water Saver' pine bark by Fafard I get from a wholesale nursery is finer, I think. If I can get a closeup pic of both I'll send to you for comparison with what you have. Russ
