Da Bears....Monday night!!

Never would have believed it.......well, maybe after the 2 games in a row in 2001 with Brown interceptions and pulling it out. Strangest game I have ever seen!

I can't say we deserved to win over Az. but it sure was nice!

It was so ugly. I love my Bears and think Rex is truly going to be the greatest quarterback this franchise has ever had, but last night was pathetic. I know it's just part of his learning curve, but did he have to do it on MNF??? If it weren't for Urlacher and Hester, we'd be sitting with egg on our faces.

Ah well, the bye is next week. I hope the coaches really take the team to task and get them better focused for the rest of the season. Maybe some of the undefeated talk will die down now, which would be a good thing.

As Lovie says, we haven't won anything yet.

Whew! I’ve finally recuperated from the onslaught. We had a blast! The pig came out perfect, the weather was great and everything went smoothly. Here are a few pictures I took: Dawn Saturday morning. Pig went in the smoker at 4 PM Friday. We all stayed up until midnight then DH & I went to bed and slept until 4 AM. We got up and relieved the midnight to 4 AM smoker crew and started our day. Almost Done Done Inhaling & Decorated RedNeck Style. Go Patriots! Last year it was Hawaiian Style complete with lei. My cousin carving the Pig. Saturday midnight...end of a long day

Hi Guys! * Yaya- I see the P.A. I saw on Jan 3 on Feb 2 I think. I'll ask about that shot(s)! What types of shots are there for shoulders? B4 my new knee in Sept. '14, I had that $1,000 Synvisc shot that Feb. Didn't really do much, but we knew going in that it was a crapshoot. * Msmeow- OH NO!! Yikes....that sounds painful! I mentioned when my injury happened, I was throwing my arms out to the side to keep from falling. That's when I got shot.........in my shoulder.... ;-) Sure felt like it anyway! My PT guy says he'd like for me to avoid injections, since they'll just mask what's really going on. I know that makes sense, but...... I'll keep doing my shoulder/back exercises, since they'll strengthen/support the whole shoulder mechanism, & its operation. Along those lines, it'll help keep an upright posture. I don't wanna turn into the letter "C" like SO many people do, just cuz they never learned how to (or cared??) do simple exercises!!!!! * Oakley- Yes, keeping the shoulders DOWN AND BACK when moving thru an exercise motion keeps the vulnerable "Cuff" muscles & tendons from hitting the Acromio-Clavicular (AC) Joint just above it. That causes SO many issues/problems. >>> The stronger your back & shoulder-blade muscles are, the better your shoulder can handle a load. So many of us have such weak back muscles, because they're never used!! Ever hear the word "Atrophy"?! SQUEEZE THAT EGG ON YOUR SPINE!! ;-) Faron

Dilemna in ordering DAs for 2019

dianela - I'm leaning more and more to just ordering from DA and getting on with it! nana - yes, Hortico is one I can get 2 roses from on my list. If I substitute some roses I can get a few more, but I've read that they are sometimes out and you won't know until they get ready to ship or they send lesser quality plants. These need to get a big jump before the JBs and the heat and spot diseases hit. mad-gallica- yep I am aware of the RRD in West Virginia. When USDA said they were releasing the mite to carry the RRD to the multiflora I was one of those who asked about the impact on garden roses. It was admitted that it might have an impact but the multiflora problem was considered a major agricultural problem and more important. We watched in anticipation but never saw any effect in the reduction of multiflora. When we asked about that we were told the mite apparently could not survive the cold over winter. Decades later our multiflora is still healthy and thriving in my woods and all my neighbors fields and hillsides that used to be pasture all over the state. Rose growing is not all that common in WV because of our weird microclimates and all our fungal issues. Wasn't aware that hundreds of gardens were wiped out? James Galway and Crown Princess Margareta are on the very must have. Found one place that supposedly has JG on multiflora and several of the others on my list but not on multiflora. Its a west coast repository and the prices are just a little less than DA, so not sure there is any real advantage just to get one rose on mf. Leaning more and more to ordering from DA.

Hi Sbrklyn - Definitely not too cold to plant your bareroots. When planting them during this time when nighttime temps are in the 30s and 40s gives them time to get established and form fine roots before the heat of late spring and summer arrive. As far as fertilizers go, you do not need to fertilize your new roses their first year. You could give them some diluted organic liquid fertilizer such as fish emulsion, otherwise you risk burning the new fine roots. The second year and on, you can fertilize with a granular fertilizer. Unless your Eden grew very large in its first year, I would also pass on pruning it - other than any dead or spindly growth. Your going to do just fine! Roses are pretty tough and quite forgiving.

The Bears were "very lucky" to win that game. Their heads were so consumed with their thoughts of being the greatest team-funny to watch them get put in their place (if only for a little bit anyway). They played pretty bad for being 5-0...until 4th quarter. Arizona showed it does have what it takes to be a great team!! Matt was fantastic-showed everyone that he knows what to do and did it. A shame that their kicker missed. That was unreal. Their next game against the Raiders ought to give them a win!! Just what they need too....Oakland is pathetic.

We can hand that win to Rakers! I was thrilled to see the Bears pull it out, but it was only by the fault of the missed field goal. We needed that to help us get our heads back in the game. I'm loving Lovie Smith. Bye week this week and that makes me happy that my guys get a break!

6-0 baby....we didn't deserve it, but we got it!

A win is a win said my DD, she will take it anyway she can! LOL
I couldn't believe it when I got up the next morning and heard the Bears won!
DD sorta jumped on her DH's ship for the Bears after they were married, after watching the Falcon's Sunday I am thinking about it too.
