I played with the t-stat a little today. It was not ideal when installed since the lowest set temp is 35. There is a pilot light in the circuit (7W e26). It will break contact only intermittently if the dial is turned repeatedly. The t-stat is quite corroded outside so I bet it is pretty nasty on the inside as well. I have so much abandoned cable under the house, it is pathetic. I pulled out 35' of 10/2 today. It was connected to a 10-20 amp socket that was sitting where a gas wall heater was installed, no box, but wrapped round and round with electrical tape. I took out the wall heater a couple of years ago and never got around to pulling out the cable or the nat gas tube. Today was the day. While I was under the house, I saw another 10-20 outlet in a box wired with conduit and attached to a joist. It seems dead, but no time to investigate today. I can not begin to speculate what it might have been used for as it is a foot or two under the side of the house :-(

Laura - when your bloods start producing you will absolutely crave more (. My fruit actually were the size of small grapefruit this year when I harvested them - I actually kept them on the tree as long as possible, and the last one actually dropped off on its own. Super sweet and fruity. I've thought about getting a finger lime, but just no more room, especially with my grafting - i've got quite a few seedlings for rootstock taking up room. If the Australian finger lime takes after the normal lime, you should get fruits quickly no matter what (regular limes fruit from seedlings 3-5 years). And I assume the red is a mature scion graft, so I'd expect blooms within 2 years given good care (and certainly possible within 1).

Thanks for sharing! I signed up. For those who buy... when you enter the voucher, Amazon does require you to link a credit card and says you will stay auto-enrolled / start being charged at the end of your trial. However, you can go into the "Kindle Unlimited" section of your account immediately and click "Cancel Membership." Your account will stay active for the 60 days and you won't be charged (I've had Kindle Unlimited as a trial before and while it's nice for free, I would never pay for it b/c the selection is lacking)

Thanks, George! I didn't even notice the purple growth! Yes, I did treat with Agri-fos as soon as I came back from my trip. Mixed up a 5 gallon pail, and used a watering can to spray the ground around the tree, and a little bit on the lower trunk, because the label said it can be used as a foliar treatment too. ( I took my gardening gloves, which are a heavy fabric, to dip the watering can in and out, and it totally dried the skin on my hand out! I know, I know, these are chemicals and I should be careful...) I think the label said it should be applied in spring, so I think I will do one more treatment at that time. Today's agenda is to spray the trees for the CLM. KC
