Main bathroom remodel - suggestions wanted
Comments (2)You can find "vintage medicine cabinet" on ebay for $50-100. "Clawfoot tub shower rod" can be found there, too. We are in a bungalow and I recommend sconces with 1 ceiling light. I wouldn't go too frugally on the plumbing. We tried higher end cheap and have had to replace the faucet. We purchased a cabinet like the one i've linked to for bathroom storage (yes, I stripped the paint and stained it). It's in the closet of the bedroom next to our bathroom. Yes, it's a short walk, but not bad. We did that so we could have the pedestal sink, which we bought at a salvage store and had resurfaced. We have some open shelving in the bathroom. This setup works for us. Have fun with this! and enjoy your "new" window! Here is a link that might be useful: Cabinet...See MoreBetter sconce than this one for hall bathroom?
Comments (2)There are quite a few similar out there. A couple (the first one shows black, but comes in chrome): https://www.shadesoflight.com/products/industrial-triangle-shade-bath-light-2-light?color=Black&via=57e1331269702d78ae0000a7%2C57e1359569702d78ae000343 https://www.shadesoflight.com/products/volta-glass-vanity-light-2-light?color=Polished+Nickel+Clear Just for fun, because I love the schoolhouse globes. :D https://www.shadesoflight.com/products/schoolhouse-2-light-bath-light?via=57e1331269702d78ae0000a7%2C57e1359569702d78ae000343...See MoreRecreate Bathroom Inspo Photo - Need Sconce, Mirror and Faucet
Comments (2)There are thousands of choices out there for mirrors and sconces ... Just keep looking and the right ones will be obvious when you see them. Just keep the inspiration photo in mind. I recently spent hours/days doing searches for 2 bathrooms ... so not going to do it for your bathroom! ;-) Have you looked at: Horchow Shades of Light Uttermost Mirror Image Home Cyan Design Global Views Worlds Away Arteriors...See MoreRecessed light over bathroom sink in addition to side sconces
Comments (26)@3onthetree The revised lighting with (3) 4" cans in the shower is too much - 1 can is sufficient. Still no exhaust fan. Agree - shower is about 5'x5' - I could see maybe 2 lights - one over the bench and one in center - but not 3. The revised lighting replaced the ceiling mount central room fixture with 2 recessed cans. Too much - the basic ambient lighting of the small room will be covered by the two vanity recessed, the bathtub light, and the Linen recessed which are all switched together. - Don't think they will all be switched together - I think vanity sconces and maybe the recessed over the vanity (based on cpartist comments) will be switched separately The revised lighting replaced the 2 recessed over the bathtub with a single ceiling mount fixture (probably chandelier). This would have very specific code requirements - what you typically see in Pinterest photos is against code. Correct - according to electrician they do this all the time and just change it after inspection or something like that? Electrician suggested the chandelier/(or something flush likely because 8' ceilings) over the tub and DH and I thought that sounded nice. Yes - re: steam shower - and there is a fan already in place in the main bathroom - it's just not noted on this plan. My designers aren't updating all of the plans exactly on their end, so they didn't note it on here. But it's already roughed in....See MoreColleen
