A few weeks after the project was completed, the grass seed has germinated and is right on course!

This is a picture our team is extremely proud of! A thriving lawn. Progressing seed germination from the driveway.
Straight bond lines on the Aquastorm pavers. A flowing curve catered to the everyday ins and outs of vehicular patterns.

Mostly completed, we have graded and seeded. The green and gray products are seeding mulches that hold the seed in place until it germinates. We laid Bluestone pieces to get the client to the back, and her vegetables, until the lawn takes hold.

Orchard trees are planted on terraces formed with gabion retaining walls. Meadow seed is beginning to germinate beneath the trees, and in the meadow below.

Globe Amaranth
This lovely annual looks like pom-poms; their flowers come in purple, red, and white and last into fall. Hardy as it is, do water it from the soil, not overhead, which can cause a powderly mildew to grow.
These plants will die back when frost appears but their seeds will germinate after winter.

Catherine & Scott Buley, HTT&T. High Tech Turf & Trees, LandscapeMakeover.biz, Rain Garden Nursery. Rough & Ready EcoLawn grass seed mix. Microclover and fescue grasses growing in. This was seeded into 1/2 to at most 3/4-1 inch deep aeration holes on 2 x 2 to 1 x 1 inch spacings. These seed "pockets" hold moisture and protect new seedlings from compression until they've grown out of the holes and start tillering together. Outstanding results from a simple yet effective planting technique. No mulch necessary, and because the seed is so close to the surface, it germinates even faster than grass seed covered by various mulches.

The gracefully flaring entry walk creates a sense of drama and elegance for a newly constructed home in Glen Ellyn. The small multi-stemmed tree in the background is Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry (Amelanchier X 'Autumn Brilliance') Premium shredded hardwood bark mulch gives the freshly planted beds a finished appearance and will reduce maintenance by conserving moisture and keeping weed seed from germinating.
The bright blue/green material is a treated excelsior blanket. It's used to restore the turf and acts as a mulch, protecting grass seed from birds, erosion and moisture loss..

A stunning example of H. x hybridus with multiple layers of petals, like ruffled petticoats. Seeds ripen in May-June, but require a season of cold dormancy before germinating the following February-March. It normally takes two years for hellebore seedlings to produce flowers, so be patient.
