Why is most of my screen black!?!?
Comments (24)I had major problems with it last night on my Mac desktop...Safari with popups blocked...Couldn't exit out of it, and even though the buttons like "preview message" and "submit" showed through it, if I tried to click them, I just got shuttled off to Target. Sometimes it would go away with refreshing the page, but often not. I'm actually surprised to find myself here today, because last night I felt that the powers that be around here are definitely NOT GETTING IT, and it's getting old for us, very old. For those who need help it will be sad if those with finished kitchens who hang around here for fun and in hopes of being helpful get too tired of fighting such things, and go off to chocolate and other pursuits!...See MoreShow & Tell - Vines! Tell me about your Vines and why you love them.
Comments (19)Hi june, I am on about 4 acres and there are woods on most sides of the property and only one neighbor on one side that I can see and its fenced there lol. So escapee passiflora and other vines aren't a problem. In fact, there are "wild /rogue" trumpet vines, japanese honeysuckle, and carolina jessamine growing all crazy out in the woods and up various trees on the back of the property. I have a lot of gulf frits so they do keep the escaped (from pots) passies under control here too. For additional control, I grow most of my passiflora in pots and use 3 tall bamboo poles tied together at the top in the large pots. Then I use fishing line and black electrical tape to create a little trellis for them to attach their tendrils onto between the bamboo poles. Then I position the pots up against a fence or tree and let them climb that way once they grow over the bamboo poles. When it freezes, I cut them back to the length of the bamboo pole/trellis and move the pots into the gh because some of the passies I grow will freeze back badly and some are tropical so gh culture during the winter is best for those. ~SJN...See MoreScorched leaves, black spots and bronzing on my Cape Fear:why?
Comments (9)I don't grow Kiowa or Cape Fear so I can't help much. I have 30 other varieties, though, and there are so many small differences between them that it is hard to say what this might be. In the fall here, the leaves start to deteriorate by early September because of disease and insect issues but those might not apply to you at your location. The good news is that the tree will come back fine next spring with most of the things on your list. Just make sure it has enough water. Leaf diseases this time of year are not a big deal. Just keep soil moist...See MoreWhy Edges Of My Rose Look Black And Wilted?
Comments (9)Dawid, the curling petal edges is normal. It is not wilting. The rose opens to that form shape to allow for insects to pollinate more easily. Some roses will fold the petals into a full point, called quilling, that make the rose look like a star. Taking petals off a bloom in no way harms a plant. I do it all the time to groom a rose to photograph it. It's REALLY hard to kill a rose. Total lack of water is the best way and even then it will hang on a long time!...See Moresultry_jasmine_nights (Florida-9a-ish)
