I'm in zone 3b/4 (central MN), first time gardener this year. I'd like to have an indoor herb garden as my 10-year old son has a passion for cooking and I think that would be one more thing to encourage his interests. You will need to get your zone and location (See I am 5/6 S INdiana) added to your profile...via this link. The location goes into the same box as the garden zone.
