A 2024 car on sale already??
Comments (36)I don't remember but I did a search. At one time hybrids got stickers allowing a single occupant driver to use the rush hour HOV lanes. That was limited to a certain amout for each brand, the same now for all-electric cars. The Prius quota was long ago met. Also, apparently in Los Angeles they were allowed to park at meters for free. That ended in 2009. Plug in hybrids (Prius has long made one, BMW and some others do too) qualify as electric cars for the HOV sticker but again, there's a quota per brand. Out of curiosity, my wife decided to try a Prius (reacting to how popular they were at the time). Maybe 10 years ago. We sold it after about a year because she didn't like it. Poor visibility (short her couldn't see either front fender, tall me couldn't either), trunk space was limited, handling and ride were disappointing, uncomfortable seats (low seats as per my earlier comment), and boring performance. It got good milage but so too do other cars. California adopted a rule requiring electric cars after 2035 and apparently a number of states have followed the example....See More2024 Spring Swap - Saturday May 4, 2024

Comments (55)Just a few sprinkles here today Cindy, so little that I could finish off planting my tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and cantaloupe transplants without really getting wet. Only thing to plant now are the watermelons to finish off the garden jigsaw puzzle. More corn and late tomatoes will be down the road a bit. Mid-80s are predicted for all next week with scant rain in the forecast. Picked, blanched, and froze the first broccoli heads. Also had a nice multi-variety of lettuce in our shrimp salad last night, hope the coming heat doesn't bitter it up, got more late lettuces coming along too. Saw the first pea blooms today and the 2 cheatin' tomato plants are also in bloom. Will need to thin out the pear trees soon, no sign of fire blight so far......See MoreVeggie Tales >>> May 2024
Comments (36)We got another 3/4" of rain today and there's no threat of drought this Spring. The peas are coming in daily now as we stock up the freezer. The lettuces are still doing well during this wet/cool period, the 80's will return next week. The carrots and beets are ready for their first picking once things dry out a bit. My 2 cheatin' tomato plants have set many marbles size fruits while the later plants are just beginning to bloom. RD I hope that you and any other forum members in Tx were not close to Houston during that major storm....See Moregardengrl66 z5
