Display house numbers for emergency/ decorative?
Comments (13)I think your idea of displaying clearly is a good one GPS has its limitations especially if you live in a private road or a place that the GPS gets confused at! the last 2 houses I had, where both on private roads with 4 and 6 other houses, the houses just didn't show up on GPS the road did leading to them which was part of the address, in the first house it was me ringing the emergancy services alot as my dad was ill and I used to have to run out of the house down the road across a parking lot to stand at the end of the road waiting for the ambulance, the next house, I no longer had to do that as my dad had died, but the house at the end had the same problem elderly father who was ill, I was the first house there and if I saw them doing the same vigil I had to do, I would offer to stand there so they could get back, eventually their son built a brilliant sign which looked like and olde worlde, English Pub sign with the names of all the houses on it (no numbers in that village so double confusion!) worked a treat. If you are artistic you could do a really cool picture and put a light over it at night. just a thought....See MoreBuild progression display in home?
Comments (5)I love the idea! :) My man did a similar thing for me, but focused on just the house. So each year, at the same time, he takes one picture of the house in the same spot, frames it and dates it. While right now it's just one pic of the house in tyvek, it's a super cute idea, and I love that each year we'll watch the house get siding, the garage go up, the lawn appear...and if we had children, I think it would be awesome if they suddenly appeared in the pictures too. I say go for it. I can't help on the collage aspect, but welcome to pintrest. Someone has a diy collage you can steal!...See Morea small small home update
Comments (19)Thanks MsJ, I do not think you have been lazy at all!!!! I think these projects which seem so simple in our heads tend to explode with the doing part of it in a hurry. I redid a kitchen the size of yours once. I tore out tile and old cabinets. Repaired walls. Ceiling was fine. Floor was ugly but I did not change it. I paid to have the cabinets and counter built and installed. I finished the cabinets and installed sink and faucet. No change to range or exhaust for it. All of this took me a month of almost constant working on it. I only worked 4 hours a day at my job. I was also much younger and stronger than I am now. This was over 30 years ago.Oh and I only had an L shape cabinet situation. AND there were no changes to what was there to begin with but newly built cabinets because the old ones were so awful and falling apart. So as I see it................ Considering all you have had to do over and above what I had to do you have done very well. Your space is turning out darling. The rest of your house will fall into place. Remember we have been here four years now. I keep changing things around because that is my nature to do so. I like change. We used to just move from house to house. Now I just wear out the furniture and floors moving things around. LOL Many of our things are on wheels....See MoreLooking for a small tabletop display case
Comments (20)Blfenton, yes, I make them. Thanks! I think they're cool too. :) Basket weaving is one of my hobbies... I weave everything from traditional homegrown willow down to miniatures in waxed linen. But I can only make one or two minis a year, so I don't need a huge display case. My largest minis are less than 3" in any direction, and some are much smaller... Less than 1". ljwrar, Thank you. That's a pretty case and the lock feature is good (and bad. Lol.) I was hoping to find something under $100, and custom made is probably my best bet, but I'm only guessing on what the ideal dimensions would be....See Moreprintesa
