If you are considering flooring for a bathroom where continuous moisture is expected, you will want to select a product other than hardwood. While the moisture resistance of an engineered hardwood makes it suitable for rooms below grade or ground level when installed with a moisture barrier, it is not advisable to install any hardwood flooring in a bathroom.

this is very timely, since we just discovered a toilet seal leak...we have hardwoods in the baths knowing the risk, however the toilet had never leaking in the years we have been here, so murphy's law rears it's head again... that said, i would still use the hardwood as it just 'works' for our home, which is a smaller condo with layout issues and it helps tremendously with 'flow' what we did do however was use a piece of hardward as a door unraised 'threshold' ..we did this in the case of a flooring water related disaster so that we could cleanly remove and replace the flooring with either more hardwood or tile should we change our minds....we purchased quite a bit of extra hardwood because we did the entire level (kitchen included) and we wanted to make sure we could have replacement boards if needed...the leak hasn't done any major damage, we have turned the water off to the toilet and will be reseating it...i may get by without any noticeable damage, we're going to wait about a week to see how the wood responds to being wet... good luck!

A slow drain is first cousin to your next stopped up and overflow. It’s a partial clog and drain cleaner is useless. Drain chemicals are actually VERY DANGEROUS YO YOU. It will burn you. It will dissolve the heck out of marble tile Heck, it can eat the gloss right off of ceramic tile. It can eat holes in galvanized plumbing and make a bad situation much worse. It’s not really safe to use and should be taken off the market. That drain needs to be augured. You obviously aren’t up to the task. Pay a Pro. Or have the super do the job he gets paid to do. And you better darn well be sure that your insurance covers flooding from negligence. Because it probably won’t. And your neighbor is gonna have a 59K judgement against you for ruining his apartment. If you rent instead of own, you will be asked to leave. If you own, the super is going g to have the right to enter your apartment at will to inspect, because you were negligent in reporting issues that caused building damage. What kind of “home professional” are you? Dare we ask? CPA? Accountant? Masseuse? All three? It certainly doesn’t involve anything design or construction related, that’s for sure.

Start by getting some LED lighting that does not heat up the space everytime the lights are on . Since it is an attic bathroom makes sure you have a good exhaust fan that is actually vented to the outside.Not sure what you want tochange but in such a small space all that dark wood is gobbling up light so I would paint it .A couple of towel hooks instead of all the towel bars would be good. How many people use this space? Decluttering the vanity space would be good. I can’t quite figure out the layout where the louvered doors are.
