Hi community! I am thinking about using the Japanese vinyl floor in the bathroom, and wood floor in other space of the room. In terms of the transition between the vinyl floor and the wood floor, my construction manager insists that I should use marble in order to totally stop the water coming out through the sub-floor and soaking the wood floor.

However, marble doesn't seemt to fit the whole vibe of the space, and I am now looking for advice on the transition materials between the vinyl floor and the wood floor. I dont want my wood floor to be damaged after several years, but I also hope there is a better material instead of cold marble.

Thanks!
