I need help with my entry/sitting room
Comments (2)Enjoythejourney gave you good advice. You might also consider a sofa floated, with 2 chairs along the window. This would give you a furniture grouping and nice conversation area. For new furniture, conside smaller scale. The rug is too small for the dining room. You don't need one and I'd just remove it. The buffet is also crowding the dining room. If you are not displaying dishes in it, you could consider placing it where the fireplace is below. Then place the art in the dining room. Center the dining table under the chandelier. I'd hang the drapes 2/3 of the way between the lower window and upper window. They should be light in color and the panels should be wider, extending beyond the windows....See MoreFurniture in Living room and adjacent sitting room for max TV seating?
Comments (2)Something about your measurements of the spaces seems off. I can't see a 7.5' length anywhere in your living room. Double check your notations. If your family enjoys table games, the sitting area would make a nice spot for a game table and chairs. Otherwise, make it into a lounge or reading nook one or two chaises. I agree with TV between the windows. Try a sofa and four swivel chairs. Keep the scale smaller and use a 3-seat sofa to seat 7, Then squeeze in a pair of smaller chairs in the corners right and left of the TV that can be pulled out for viewing. The coffee table can have space underneath for a couple of poufs or stools to seat extras....See MoreLiving / lounge room in a Mezzanine help needed!

Comments (32)Kristy - I think the new flooring you picked looks good. What do you think of the four club chair pic just posted below? Honestly, those set ups remind me of institutional settinfs like an airport lounge or a chain hotel lobby. I dont think they look all that inviting. I’d prefer two chairs and some other kind of seating....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
