Super white / calacatta quartzite countertop - cleaning? Staining?
Comments (20)Hi Lisa. Happy fourth. We just had calacatta lux installed five days ago. Love the look. The horror stories on Houzz however are frightening. Water beads as was promised on counter when they sealed but edge near sink discolored from droplets. It did fade away in about an hour. Have you had any problems or did you have any staining? How was it processed? Ours came the day after it was cut and hoping down the road I don’t experience the edge stains. Anything you can add is very helpful. Thank you again. Your kitchen looks fantastic! After reading all this I’d be grateful to hear your experience. Tks!...See MoreMadre Perla-To Quartzite or NOT to Quartzite-That is the question...
Comments (8)Madre Perla owner here, though mine is brushed I tested a polished piece originally, nothing stained it not even tumeric. My slab does not etch. It has survived a lemondrop party and multiple instances of canning tomatoes. It's been 3-4 years its beauty, particularly the large uninterrupted island slab, still stops people in their tracks. They carress it, as I do, and say What is this???...See MoreEquator Quartzite or Taj Mahal Quartzite Photos
Comments (65)@typeandrun, thank you for the response and feedback. Just out of curiosity, was honing an option when you were making your decision. This gives it the matte look but without the texture. We are going with a dark greenisland and warm white perimeter cabinets and I really like the Taj Mahal. I just want to make sure I get slabs that are more cream than beige. That's the toughest part b/c they look so different in the warehouses than they will in real life....See MoreQuartzite counter - water soaks in (only in one spot)?
Comments (5)It has held up great! We had one minor spot around the sink repaired a year or two ago… I believe it was just a softer imperfection in the stone. No staining, etching or chips anywhere else despite lots of cooking and a young child who uses it daily to eat and do crafts etc. I dont have pictures that do it justice at the moment… we get a lot of compliments on it… but i have attached one from before the backsplash was grouted in case it helps....See MoreRachel Garrett
