About me: I’m married, with two nearly-grown daughters. One is a college graduate, one is still in college. I also have two step-daughters who do not live with us.
I came here mostly for home decorating project help in my little post-war cape, and some gardening as well. I don’t enjoy yard work, so I like to cover as much ground as possible with perennials and mulch! My back yard was a weed-choked disaster area, but I got it back, slowly but surely, with some professional help.
My husband and I now live in a 1922 colonial revival house in a locally historically significant neighborhood. Owning an older home brings some new challenges, so I’m looking for help in the remodeling and old house forums. Specifically, I’m interested in the tug of war between renovation and remodeling; I want all the mod cons in my kitchen, but I don’t want a whiz-bang 21st Century contemporary kitchen in my period Colonial. The balance is going to be interesting to maintain.

My zone is: zone 6, NY

Commented: Unidentified Plant Some kind of day lily perhaps? (Hemerocallis) This question is 6 weeks old, so I suspect it must be more identifiable now.
