About me: To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.--- inaccurately attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson --a great quote regardless.
Mother of 3 young children, particularly fond of edible plants, fragrant plants, and unusual plants. I guess I love all them all... I also love music and the great outdoors, children, especially "planting things" and watching the growth and development process unfold.
Now live in z6b/7a MD . Humble suburban plot with suburban house. Sun and shade. Soil is clay/acidic. Gardening challenged by mosquitoes, squirrels, slugs and deer and not enough hours in a day to garden. Other gardening interests include extending the gardening season, edible container gardening, and ecologically sound pest and resource management. Any advice/feedback is always welcome. Im excited to have found GW-- Thank you!
Yes, and I am now a very grateful and recent kidney transplant recipient as of 2/25/06. I'm looking forward to finally being medically cleared to garden again this year. Any advice related to gardening as a transplant patient is welcome. Cheers and happy gardening!
