My house is a mix of old, new, and creative ideas. It’s mostly traditional with a few surprises thrown in such as an antique sled for a coffee table and a rustic metal and crystal chandelier hanging from the 6 meter high vaulted ceiling above the kitchen.
About me: I am an Indiana native living in Bavaria. My husband and I were high school sweethearts who reconnected and got married 31 years later. He had been living in Germany since 1983. We became the talk of our tiny village when we built a Canadian log home high on a hill at the edge of the Spessart Forest in 2013. A log home is still a bit of a curiosity here. After finishing everything inside the house, we turned our attention to the landscaping. I had never had much interest or time for gardening while raising kids and working 50-60 hours a week at my own home remodeling business. However, now that my time is my own, I have discovered a passion for it— who wouldn’t with such a gorgeous backdrop? My other interests are cooking, interior decorating using some repurposed antiques, hiking with my husband and our amazingly brilliant dog Missy, and traveling the world with my bff of 45 years and her husband.

Commented: Raspberry Cream Twirl @Deborah Z10 coastal  March in Germany was the wettest month in 30 years. We forgot what the sun even looked like. There is nothing picture worthy going on out there yet, except for Crepe Myrtle trying...
