About me: I love growing all kinds of new plants, but I am especially fond of Salvias and vegetable gardening. I grew up in Lenoir, NC and studied chemistry at UNC, but have lived in Taylors (Greenville), SC for the past 35 years. We moved to Raleigh in 2005 to be near our daughter and two grandchildren. I am 5-minutes from the JC Raulston Arboretum and volunteer there at least once a week. We also have a daughter and 4 grandchildren in Chattanooga, TN that we visit as often as possible. After moving here I expanded the garden to 40 by 60 feet and added an 18-foot long lean-to greenhouse. I practice intensive gardening throughout the winter using wire hoops and frost cloth for protection.
