About me: I began gardening in 1991 when my 16 year old son died. I wanted cut flowers to take to the cemetary. I got addicted. Such good therapy. I left that garden in San Diego and moved to the PNW. I grieved leaving my garden but soon realized it was my roses I missed the most. I have spent a year researching NW gardening. I have one acre, mostly woodland but a beautiful sight for a nice size rose garden. I was a highschool counselor in San Diego but was forced into early retirement due to funding cuts. My husband is an electrician by trade but calls himself "my hoe". I have three grown daughters, a stepson, and seven gradchildren who love helping nana in the garden. I have a theme garden with childrens statues named after each of them. I cherish my family, home, yard and my church. God has truly blessed me.
