Commented: Is it possible to run two valves at the same time, Rainbird timer To answer your question about overlapping run times most timers will delay the start of each zone till the previous zone finishes.

Commented: Exchanging Rainbirds for Toros we need a little more info to give you the right answer, but a good thing to look at is the chance that the fittings are clogged at the station line.
