About me: I am a trial & error gardener in the San Francisco area who wants a lush landscape without using water :)
My latest solution is bog gardening, which combines well with drought tolerant plants that look tropical. Bog gardening is the best!
It is great to find this site with so many avid gardeners & such good advice.

Commented: Half & Half bog? I Need to know if it'll work. I think blueberries like really sandy soil with very good drainage.

Commented: Advice Converting Pond to Bog Good idea, but I would get professional advice with a pond that big. You should be able to fill with dirt and have a fantastic garden. PS a bog does NOT smell unless you have lots of standing water.

Commented: OK to place a pond and bog garden together? We have a bog next to our small pond, with water level about 4 inches below the bog in 1 area, and at surface level in the other area. Both work fine! So well, in fact, that I put 2 bogs in other area...
