About me: I am from, and still live in, Boston, MA. I have sporadically owned houseplants over the years, including some spider plants I kept on life support for almost a decade before finally giving them to a niece with a green thumb. I have killed cactus, inch plants, spider plants, philodendron, and all kinds of 'unkillable' things. I am determined to have a flower garden on my decks. DETERMINED.
I am currently the mother of two ferns (one happy, one quite sad), and a dish of straggly paperwhites.

Commented: What have you planted or will be planting in containers? I planted a bunch of bulbs last fall, but they mostly appear to have been eaten by squirrels or drowned in the amazing amounts of rain we have gotten. I planted salvia, basil, chives, garlic chives, ...

Commented: Can I supplement the sunlight on my balcony? A bunch of cloudy days in a row is highly unlikely in PHX, yes?

Commented: When to water container plants indoors I heard you shouldn't water outdoor container plants at night because the fresh dampness attracts snails and slugs to the container. So if they are indoors, I can't see that that matters much.
