About me: I'm just about as crazy for my garden as I am for my three cats (2 catizens and a young adult with an attitude!) In our backyard acre, we have a miniature fruit orchard (pears, apples, plums, peaches, raspberries and blueberries), a raised-bed vegetable garden (where we grow small quantities of many veggies - in composite, enough to supply all our needs for most of the summer and well into winter). A culinary herb garden is tucked against the south side of the house. Lots of flowers, mostly perennials, hardy annuals that freely re-seed -- anything that survives benign neglect. Once work starts in the veggies, there is precious little time to devote to dead-heading, weeding & caring for roses and other needy flowers. Sadly, my gardening passion is restricted by my need to earn a living! Oh, well! As soon as I retire.....
