Commented: Is it possible to for a Japanese Maple to do well in total shade? I planted a tamukeyama in heavy shade. The first season the leaves turned greenish, but the past 2 years, it has stayed red. I'm in zone 7a.

Commented: What kind of JM did i buy? Red Select or Crimson Queen? so confused? Oh, and this is the same Crimson Queen that I posted earlier, but with the sun shining through it's leaves. I figure the Walmart plant will have the same effect when the sun hits it:

Commented: To plant or not to plant. Advice please!! Zone 9 I've planted a lot of plants, including maples, in August, in the 100 degree Arkansas heat. It's probably not best, but I always made sure to plant right, and made sure to keep them properly watered...
