Next up on our #PartnerProfile with Peregrine Design/Build... After witnessing their children thrive amidst the serene lakeside ambiance, the homeowners made the decision to undertake a recent remodel of their cherished abode. Embracing a fresh, breezy coastal aesthetic, the renovated home now mirrors their profound affinity for the water. With seamlessly interconnected rooms, the residence provides an ideal setting for their expanding extended family to create enduring memories for generations to come. Kitchen | Vermont Farmhouse This property is known as the Clementine Homestead and was just recently sold to new owners. The post and beam frame of the original house was built in 1812 in southern Vermont and was moved to Richmond in 1980. We used the home's history along with inspiration gained from speaking with the owners to approach this work as if it had been done over many years and several generations of handy homeowners and/or local carpenters instead of all having been done all at once and resolved into some atypical “whole”. So the kitchen addition is detailed - inside and out - as if it had once been a porch that was later closed in to become the kitchen. 📍Richmond, VT Project Details: Architecture and interior design by wanta-architect PLLC - Cabinetry: Custom designed by Stephen Wanta; fabricated by Ed Roy. The eat-at counter between the kitchen and the family room was inspired by American "pie safes" including the zinc counter. - Paint Color: C2 Paint - 462 "Melodic" - Tile: Backsplash is from the Chez Monet collection at Country Floors; the floor is concrete encaustic tile from Avente Tile which we custom colored. In the Butler's Pantry, note the tile clementines within a tile frame set into the backsplash there. We did similar touches in the tile work throughout the house. - Antique Lighting Fixtures: from the Brimfield Antique Market, as are more than 40 fixtures through the rest of the project. 🛠Builders: Peregrine Design/Build 📸Photo Credit: Susan Teare
