Hi rnestingen,
Most homes built with trusses have non load-bearing interior walls, but a good GC, architect or structural engineer can look at the framing above the walls and let you know if its bearing or not. (There are occasionally point loads or beams from girder trusses etc which would be the exception to that)
Either way, if you do decide to go with the pocket door option I'd suggested, then the framed opening for the pass thru is double the opening, plus around 3-6". (You may already know this) This is to accommodate the track etc. This may require relocating circuits and possibly your gas line etc, but could be worth it if you like the option of being able to close off the space occasionally. Double hinged folding doors, or even barn type doors could work also (on the dining side)
Btw, if you make the pass through bottom begin at around 6 - 8" higher than than counter, you can avoid issues with the pocket framing interfering with the outlets etc.
