I like the purple idea. a smokey amethyst or aubergine shade
I think this first color would look nice w/your shade of wood furniture you have. For the other walls, do a creamy white. (nothing too yellow or blue)
complimentary gray colors.
If you do the entire room (which looks beautiful) you'd keep the linen soft and light, maybe add gold accents.
Or, do a gray wall and bring in the purple with the comforter
this room has a similar bed color that you have. the room was done in a dark taupe color, lighter gray/taupe on the other walls, and notice the trim work. I like it in the coordinating dark color.
you could also do something w/a stencil. base color is a flat sheet, and the stencil color is a satin or semi gloss. you could do the same color or get the stencil color a shade lighter.
