Fall Party Spots
My sundresses are all folded up and put away and the lemonade's going to the back of the pantry for another year. It's sad.
But you know what? It would be a lot sadder if fall wasn't such a really great time of year. Not only does the weather in my neck of the wood magically transform from hot and humid to crisp and perfect, but for a variety of reasons, fall seems to be prime party time. And I love parties.
With that in mind, I went in search of some great spaces to throw a perfect fall bash - whether it's a down-and-dirty football party or a refined dinner party full of sophisticated fall food (it's pumpkin soup season!). Here's what I found:

These squash-colored walls create a perfect setting for a pretty autumnal dinner party.
Fall=Halloween - and I love this little decorative tableau. It's a whole lot more sophisticated than anything found at Party City!
Football parties are most fun in big spaces where the less pigskin-oriented guests can hang out and talk without driving the game-watchers crazy. I like the way this space includes more than one conversation area.
Just because it's football doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed in slightly more refined surroundings, either. I love the way this formal room still works with the TV.
And this space adds just a little sophistication to casual comfort. I think it strikes a nice balance. The kind that's perfect for some football!
As I mentioned, the weather around here is absolutely perfect during the fall - it's ideal for sailing, actually. Next best thing? Drinks and snacks on a nautical-inspired deck.
Speaking of decks, imagine how gorgeous the view from this one would be just as the leaves change.
And I'm always a fan of casual dinner outside during the beautiful fall months.
Thom Filicia's lake house bar seems to be made for crisp fall parties. There's something extra special about fall at a lake - it's so pretty, plus so bittersweet, since the season really is ending.
This space gets me for two reasons. One, the view of a yard that must be beautiful in the fall and two, the warmth that comes from the amazing ceiling.
