It depends. You didn't mention the type of flooring. If all the pieces are the same length it might be difficult to change because it could affect the entire row and potentially change the distance between the ends on other rows. If the pieces are random length, it would be easier, though all the rows between this one and the wall would probably have to be removed it it's a floating floor. It looks like your base is installed and painted so that might need to be removed also.
It's quite possible that the installer started at the other end, set up the stair step pattern and ended up with this small piece at the end, using a floor with all the same length pieces.
