Home is Where the Heart Is: Heart-Shaped Decor
The heart shape is a bit of a funny thing in home decor. On the one hand, it is something that most of us have somewhere in our homes (whether or not we intended to!) On the other hand, its such a cliche shape that it's not something we often focus on in design.
I happen to love heart shapes. I certainly think that they can be overdone in a home but mostly think that they're lovely, romantic and wonderful.
I am impressed by people who use very large heart-shaped items in the home such as heart mirrors, heart-shaped furniture and heart-shaped bathtubs. I think most of us find it easier to incorporate hearts in smaller ways like with art work, vinyl decals and small accessories.
Look around your home - what do you have that's heart shaped? Does it add to your decor?

This room is a bit too pretty for me but I do love some of the heart touches. In particular, I like the heart pillows. On white furniture they are very light and feminine. Tossed on black or colored furniture they might be more dramatic. There's also the heart-shaped border to consider here. I think I'd love it if the rest of the room weren't so overdone. What do you think?
Hearts are popular in modern stationery, posters and wall hangings. This one has fun text that lends a silly, cute touch to the heart. This could be hung as art, placed on an inspiration board or converted into the pattern for a pillow.
