Houzz Call: Show Us Your Hardworking Workbench
Where do you build or repair your household possessions? Your photo could be featured in an upcoming Houzz article
Handcrafted items such as jewelry, container gardens, sculptures and furniture begin their lives at a workbench. Like the items they help create, benches are unique: organized, stocked and designed to suit the needs of their owners.
Calling all Houzzers: Upload a picture of your workbench, or one that you recently designed, in the Comments and tell us why it works for you. If you use it for building or crafting, we’d love to see something you’ve made.

From pegboards to wall cabinets and shelves, the options for personalizing a workbench are endless. Here, undercounter cabinets organize larger tools while smaller tools and those used the most hang from organized hooks. Even hats, bike helmets and a few jackets have a place at the bench.
The model shop. Robin Moore transformed a bedroom in his family’s home in Spring, Texas, into an industrial “nerd cave” dedicated to movie-watching, superhero paraphernalia, hand-built replicas of Star Wars models and more. This workbench in his garage is where he constructs all his models and props.
Moore mounted 13 feet of wall cabinets above a workbench made from leftover wood and topped with self-healing cutting mats. In the cabinets he stores a drill press, airbrushes, scroll saws, chop saws, sanders, a router and a 3D printer.

The motorcycle bench. Motorcycle enthusiast Dennis Reed had his dream fulfilled when he and his wife, interior designer Rita Hendricks, transformed their Dallas home’s two-car garage into a motorcycle workshop.
This bench in the shop stores Reed’s tools, with hanging racks on the wall above keeping wrenches, pliers and screwdrivers organized.
