A backsplash like this will quickly become dated, as pros say better to stay classic and use accessories to add style then have to tear something like this out.

Why not take cabinets higher? The shorter cabinet is a dated look and the higher cabinets give you extra storage and extend the eye.The way the backsplash tile is placed cutting the backsplash right in half is an awkward proportion and visually carves it up. Taking materials to the edges extends the space and makes it appear larger.
