Add Soft Luxury To Your Home with Velvet
The best thing about velvet is its texture. Not only does it feel soft but it looks soft, too. It immediately lends a sort of softness and warmth to the room. You can alter the depth of this feeling depending upon the color of velvet that you choose and the boldness of the piece that you choose it for. It's a flexible fabric if you're not afraid to play around with it.
Why hang velvet draperies when you can really go all out and turn your walls into velvet?! If you look at the walls on top of the wainscoting here then you'll be able to tell that they're made of velvet. The rest of the room grabs your attention but the soft walls will manage to catch you off guard.
Speaking of sofas that are bold, take a look at this amazing Parapet Sofa. It's hard to say whether you're supposed to sit here, sleep here or lay back into it while being fed grapes by a harem! This one is a bit over the top even for me but I do love the raspberry-colored velvet lining on the bottom of the sofa and on the trim of the pillows. I could see incorporating velvet into a bed or sofa in that way.
This sofa is one of my single favorite items featured in a photo on this site. It's a really cool little shape that looks both modern and vintage at the same time. It appears to be on wheels so you can move it around easily. And I love the color! So cute. It also looks totally comfy since it's a velvet sofa.
Is this a velvet chair with a matching velvet foot stool that we see here? It sure looks like it. If so then I could definitely see cuddling up into it with a good book or a glass of wine. What a great color, too, isn't it?!
