landscape for front
Current 1. Walkway in front of the garage - Boulder on left end, too small for global pine or Simple Dwarf Tree?...Do I need height on the end? What hedge do I want to create along this walkway, before the front patch leading to the front door? Boxwoods, bc they look good all year? Hydrangeas, but how would that look during the winter? I like the tall grass, so we can move it?
Current 3. The boxwoods seem so low compared to the other large plants...perhaps, move it create a circle around the lightpost? Replace with a Hydrangea on a Stand on the far left with a row of boxwoods along the walkway to the wall to the right under the window? If boxwoods, create a rectangular hedge or round shapes with spaces in between...? I like hydrangeas, however not sure that would look good over the winter..Or should I keep the burning bush and height framing the window?
Current 5. We removed a weeping mulberry tree because of the maintenance and overgrowth. A magnolia would be pretty but this faces the harsh afternoon sun and probably not the right size for a large magnolia...what tree or focal point should be created here? And should we create an L shaped hedge behind the tree? Boxwoods? Yews? Hydrangea bushes? (Like white hydrangeas...) We are interested in a low maintenance tree. Green weeping Japanese maple provide enough contrast from the brick? Hydrangea on a stand look good through the winter? Something dwarf would be ideal...
Current 9. We will trim the white birch back....Looking for some balance and imagine we may need to repeat something from the left side of the home on the right here under the office window. To the right of the door is a burning bush, variegated grass, day lillies, red burning bush, and hostas under the birch. (We need to trim the birch...)
If you zoom, you can see the dimensions of the space.
