17 Bedrooms That Will Make You Feel You’re Still on Vacation
Take a moment to daydream a little before summer is over

Sigh. Can you believe we’re approaching the end of summer? I sure can’t. It’s zipped by in a blink, and I’m doing all I can to hold on to the sunshine and warmth. My favorite season will inevitably end, but before it does, let’s pretend we’re on summer vacation for a few more days. And what better place to do it than reclining in bed.
Take off your shoes, fluff up the pillow and let your eyes soak up these 17 soothing bedscapes. When you awake from your daydream, let us know in the Comments which image is your favorite.

1. Tropical treat. Dramatic wallpaper immediately transports you to a tropical location lavished in luxury. You’d never guess this is actually a guest bedroom in Salt Lake City. The design team at Design Loves Detail completed the vacation feel with crisp bedding, a plethora of pillows and matching gold reading lamps.

2. Sea of calm. You can almost hear the ocean waves crashing outside this San Diego bedroom designed by Tracy Lynn Studio. The color palette immediately reminds you of the sea, with its mix of blues and creams. After a nap on this bed, I look forward to walking the beach to search for shells.

3. Modern charm. This hip, Parisian bedscape beckons for me to set down my suitcase and take a quick nap before hitting the town. Thanks, H&S Déco, for designing the ultimate resting spot.
But before my head hits the pillow, I’d better set an alarm on my phone and place it on the geometric table next to the bed. I’ll see you soon, Paris. Right after my date with this bed.

4. No cellphone service needed. A live-edge headboard immediately tells me to expect no phone reception, and I’m OK with that. Instead, I’ll unplug and enjoy this room designed by Alex Dampsey. Later, I can explore the nature that Canada has to offer — after I finish breakfast in bed, of course.

5. Breath of fresh air. Soft colors and nightstands stocked with books and candles turn this San Francisco bedroom into an escape from the busy world outside. If you need me, I’ll be here finishing a page-turner.

6. Relaxation in a box. The bed frames everything that’s serene about this room: the cool blue bedding, the beach-palette painting and the rays of summer sunshine. Graystone Custom Builders knew how to bring a beachy California vibe to a room.

7. Desert oasis. Sure, moose don’t live in the desert, but this is a daydream so it’s fine. Besides, this bedroom exists in Moscow, a place not known for its desert climate. Instead, let’s focus on the swath of colorful pillows ready for reclining and the cute cactus accents.

8. Pretty with a touch of pink. Nothing says vacation like tropical pillows, a fresh cup of tea and trendy flamingo art. (Flamingos are having a design moment, if you hadn’t heard.) It would be impossible to wake up in this room designed by The Scientist and not feel just a little more relaxed.

9. Shabby Chic rest. A casual, country style adds a layer of comfort to your vacation adventures. Nothing beats your own bed, but reclaimed wood and a tussled throw come pretty close.

10. Party, party, party. The moment you enter this room, you feel energized to put on your swimsuit and go jump in the pool. After all the fun in the sun, you can return to this vibrant space designed by Color Concept Theory and invite your friends over for a game of cards or a glass of wine. When the room says party, you have to obey.

11. Attic adventures. Tuck yourself away in the attic with a good book and do nothing but relax for days. Quintana Partners also added a giant floor pillow next to the window in case you want to read by sunlight instead of the adjustable lamp.

12. Boho bliss. No headboard? No problem when you have a stack of fluffy pillows and an ocean view, or as close as you can get to an ocean view in Manhattan. Designer Angela Ferlita Hugo of Homepolish even gave us additional lumbar support through a playful pillow that brings a little color to the otherwise-white bed.

13. Hotel glitz. Does it feel like we’re stepping into a posh hotel? Well, it should. This jungle wallpaper has graced the walls of locations such as the Beverly Hills Hotel and celebrity homes. But this room reminds us that we can achieve celebrity status no matter where we live, even Tulsa, Oklahoma. So put up your feet and soak in the glam space designed by Austin Bean Design Studio.

14. Day at the beach. A flock of birds soars overhead as you end a day at the beach. This space redesigned by Rincon Rd is an ideal place to soothe your sunburn with a little aloe vera and then search online to find the best spot for dinner. Maybe somewhere along the water to take in the Santa Barbara views? Yes, please.

15. Nautical notions. Bright blues and images of sea turtles tell us we’ve made it to our beachy retreat. Echelon Custom Homes didn’t shy away from reminding us that we’re staying in a beach town. We’re on vacation, so that’s exactly what we want. But right now, the water’s calling. Let’s head out for some boating or even some dolphin watching.

17. Living decor. Our landscape comes inside as we travel to Australia in this room by Langford Jones Homes. As we tilt open the louver windows, a soft summer breeze floats in, jostling the plant leaves and bringing freshness to the space. Ahh, summer.
