You can read the article I published in my blog about this beautiful rose garden. In it I speak of the cultivation characteristics of Rosa ‘Penelope’ in my climate. My garden enjoys a very hot climate in summer and with very little atmospheric humidity. In winter there are frost not very deep.
The soil is sandy, with a pH that tends to a certain aridity. I must constantly contribute organic matter. I do not use chemicals in my garden.
This rose does not suffer major diseases or pests and it grows until the winter. The aroma of its flowers in my climate is noticeable but not very intense.

Rosa 'Penelope' in her first season. It had only been a few months since she had planted herself naked.
