Great article with lots of product considerations. For those short on space, a wooden manger trough planter can be placed onto a patio, balcony or rooftop garden to provide growing space for tomatoes

You can also start the string in the soil, under the roots and then let the vine grow up the string. And when they get tall, just lengthen the string and move it over on the overhead pole, creating more room for the vine to grow. This is the way a lot of professional growers do it, I understand. And it's what I'm trying this year. - I have so many different varieties that I'm really excited.

I read recently that there's some 2,500 varieties of tomatoes!!! Who knew? So many tomatoes, so little time!
