Are you some kind of wuss? Why are you letting Cal Faucets get away with this?
The Cal Faucet warranty is
"Mechanical Warranty: A limited lifetime warranty is provided on all mechanical parts to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal usage."
The term "mechanical parts" is not defined, which is to the disadvantage of Cal Faucets. Because they are not defined a court applying the ancient doctrine of contra proferentem must give them the widest possible meaning. Since a handle is required for the mechanical operation of a faucet, it seems to fall well into the category.
There is no possibility that ha loose or broken handle after two years is ordinary wear and tear or any other exception to the warranty.
Here's what you do:
1. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. No sensible company ignores a BBB complaint or wants to risk a low BBB rating. Right now Cal Faucets has an N/R rating down from an A+ a few years ago.
2. File a complaint with your state Attorney General's consumer affairs/fraud division (they have various names). Same reasoning: No sensible company ignores these complaints or wants a bad mark.
Most likely these actions will resolve the issue in your favor.
If not, then
3. File a suit in your local small claims court. Its easy, and you will win unless you screw up completely. To avoid that possibility, read The Warranty Game: Enforcing Your Product Warranty.
The thing you do not need to do is complain about the problem on the Garden Web, Yelp or any place else that cannot help you win the game. It's just a big waste of time.
Good luck, not that you'll need it.
