Pet of the Week: Pup in Training
Bandit learns how to behave at home and on the work site
A few months ago, Brittany Bailey adopted an 11-month-old dog into her workday. She runs her own business, which means she can always have her new furry companion by her side.
On the job: Bandit has become Bailey’s DIY sidekick. While he is still getting used to her job as a remodeler, he is acclimated to the sound of tools, other than the finish nail gun. That one still brings out a bark. Bailey values his companionship and protection while she is on a job or working from home. In turn, Bailey makes sure Bandit is safe on the work site and keeps him away from loud power tools.
Favorite part of the workday: He loves going to the home improvement store for supplies. The store lets him go inside with Bailey. When inside, he wants to greet everyone the duo meets.
Favorite project: Any project that is close to the ground makes Bandit’s tail wag. When Bailey gets on his level, he loves to give her a few licks and tries to convince her it is time for a break.

Break time: A round of fetch always helps break up the workday. He’s also up for a game of tug of war. If his human brothers or the neighbor dogs are around, he’s guaranteed to loop them into the fun. You can check out more of Bandit’s adventures on Instagram.
Payment method: Bandit is in the thick of obedience training, so good behavior brings lots of treats and praise his way.

Off the clock: Nap time calls to Bandit when the workday is done — sometimes even during the day. If he can, he’ll drag his bed from room to room as Bailey works so he can be cozy as he naps or watches her work.
“Bandit has brought so much laughter and lots of smiles into our lives,” Bailey says. “He’s still a goofy puppy, but he has a willingness to please and is a quick learner.”
