Houzz Call: Show Us Your Basketball Hoop
Where do you practice your jump shots and free throws? We want to see!
It’s March, which means the madness of college basketball tournament play is about to start. Those college athletes will play in big arenas filled with fanatical fans, but most of us don’t play hoops under the bright lights. Instead, we take to the driveway, the garage or even our bedrooms to work on our games.
If you are one of those people who like to shoot hoops, where do you work on your basketball skills? We would love to see the creative courts and hoops you have at home. Share a photo and tell us about it in the Comments!

Driveway dribbling. A post secured alongside the driveway is a classic example of at-home hoops. As long as the cars are in the garage or along the street, you can dribble up and down the driveway, and even down the sidewalk for some extra conditioning.
Layups on the lawn. A patch of artificial turf is tough enough for this group of young players. They even have a small hoop up on the fence for extra shooting practice.
Garage games. Setting up in the garage makes year-round basketball practice possible. Now all the owners have to worry about is whether their two favorite universities — the University of Notre Dame and Purdue University — advance in the college basketball tournament.
Home-court advantage. If basketball ranks at the top of your workout list, you might install an indoor basketball court. This space, while painted for a game of hoops, also lends itself to other sports, such as soccer.
Buzzer-beater before bed. Two hoops mounted to the top bunk let kids shoot some hoops before bedtime. Maybe the first one to make 10 shots gets to pick the bedtime story?
